5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, use it constantly, July 27, 2011
Nearly every book on organizing that I read talks about how important it is to label the containers in your life. If you have stacks of rubbermaid tubs in the attic, label them so you see at a glance what is in each one. If you have binders on your shelf holding important papers, label them so you can scan them and grab the one you need. Label your photo albums with the dates or topics within each. Label your desk drawers.

For all of these labeling tasks, I've been using my Dymo LetraTag for years. It's easy to change out tapes of any color or style - even metallic and iron-on - on the fly. You can program long phrases into it, backspacing and adjusting, and then hit PRINT when you're ready to print it. The tape is easy to separate from the backing and stick on whatever you want.

Over the years I've certainly run into a few things that the tape had issues with - for example glossy plastic. In those cases I simply cover the label with some clear packing tape and... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Worked great, until it burned out, April 27, 2008
While this product worked (3 months of continuous usage) it worked quite well and I was very happy with it. Until today, I noticed a strange smell, and saw the label maker smoldering!!! I think the heat element which is part of the printer failed and burned out, causing the device to melt.

It was good at first, but I would not by it again because my concern about it being a fire hazard.

I've had a label-maker like this one for a couple of years and use it all the time. Everything in my house gets labeled. I purchased this one because I was using a different type of labeler that belonged to someone else and it broke while I was using it. I replaced theirs with this one. I like the qwerty keypad--the one I broke didn't have qwerty--seems like a small thing, but it was so much harder to use. Highly recommended.
